🌟Local Kiddo SF

Your weekend plans, handled.

📆Issue No. 47 - December 20-21, 2025

We're in the final stretch before the holidays, one more weekend to soak up all the festive magic before everything shifts into family mode.

Last chance: Mark Foehringer's Nutcracker Sweets closes this weekend at Fort Mason! If you've been meaning to take the littles to this 50-minute, kid-perfect version, Saturday and Sunday are your final shots.

Opening this weekend: People's Circus Theatre Reindeer Games opened this week at the Children’s Creativity Museum! If circus + holidays is your vibe, catch it through December 28.

Sold out but not out of luck: The SFJAZZ Family Matinee with SF Girls Chorus is sold out for Saturday, but you can still watch virtually. Pajamas and hot cocoa encouraged.

This is the weekend for SF Ballet's Nutcracker Dance-Alongs on Sunday. Multiple sessions for different ages, including sensory friendly options. If you've been waiting to give your kid the Clara experience without committing to a full performance, this is it.

Let's get into the weekend.

Oogubi does it again. Their sensory play wonderlands have become a thing for SF families, and this holiday edition brings Santa AND Grinch energy. Expect immersive play, themed activities, and the kind of joyful chaos that kids love.

A free holiday party at one of SF's most underrated waterfront parks. Santa's Workshop brings arts and crafts, a holiday market, free toys, food, live comedy, and music from Afterthought and The Top Chefs. This is the kind of low-key, community-centered event that makes SF parenting great. No tickets needed, just show up and enjoy. India Basin is beautiful. Stick around after for a waterfront walk if the weather cooperates.

Worth Knowing:

Sunday Highlights

This is the one. Step into Clara's magical winter wonderland, toy soldiers, twirling snowflakes, the Sugar Plum Fairy, the whole thing. But instead of sitting and watching, your kids are DOING. They'll move to the choreography, discover the music, learn about costumes and pointe shoes, and make crafts.

Worth Knowing:

  • Sunday, December 21, multiple times

  • SF Ballet, 455 Franklin Street

P.S. Forward this to a parent who is still trying to figure out what to do during their kiddo’s wake window.

P.P.S. Want to partner with us? Have an event we should highlight? We work with brands that parents actually want in their lives (you know, the ones that don't make us choose between "kid-friendly" and "still cool"). Email us at [email protected] if that sounds like you.
