📆Issue No. 66 - May 2-4, 2026

Happy Friday, friends!

This weekend is one of those "how do we pick just one thing" weekends. We're talking Japantown's Kodomo no Hi Children's Day Festival, a Mission Kids Spring Fiesta, a family carnival in Balboa, and an outdoor Zootopia 2 screening, plus Pete the Cat fans get the full double feature with the musical running all weekend AND a playdate on Sunday. Both the SF International Arts Festival and SF Film Festival are in full swing with family-friendly programming too. We found 100+ events in SF this weekend. Let's get into it.

Closing: Pete the Cat, the Musical closes this Sunday. Don’t miss your chance to see the groovy cat and his band and join us for a playdate.

As always, if we missed your favorite happening around the city, reply here or find us at [email protected]. We’ll see you again in your inbox on Tuesday.

🐾Pete the Cat Playdate🐾

We're organizing a Local Kiddo crew for Pete the Cat the Musical this Sunday, May 3 at the Children's Creativity Museum. The plan: meet at Yerba Buena playground at 12:30pm for around an hour of slides and sandbox, then head inside for the show at 2pm. Singing cats included. Don’t forget to use the code KIDDO10 for discounted tickets.
Grab your tickets here and fill out our interest form so we can coordinate. The more the merrier.

💬 THE GROUP CHAT 💬

We won't do a sports bracket, but a playground bracket? Absolutely. We're crowdsourcing your faves. What's the best playground in SF? Not the one closest to your house. The one you'd actually drive across town for. Reply and tell us. We're keeping score.
