🌟Local Kiddo SF

Your weekend plans, handled.

📆Issue No. 52 - January 24-25, 2026

Happy Friday, friends!

As SF Art Week comes to a close this weekend, if you've ever wanted to immerse your kids in world-class art without fighting for their attention, this is the weekend.

Art everywhere: Family Programs at FOG (workshops by SFMoMA and Bay Area Discovery Museum at Fort Mason), Family Art Making (de Young Museum), Ruth Asawa Centennial "Dough In" (Alvarado Elementary School), Baby Rave (Asian Art Museum), Family Studio: Watercolors! (SFMoMa), and there is also a ton of amazing art (not kiddo specific, but still worth it) on view at the FOG Fair, ATRIUM, and Creativity Explored x Open Invitational .

Opening this week: Once Upon A Mattress! The classic fairy tale retelling of the Princess and the Pea is back. If your kid loves princesses, princes, singing, dancing and comedy, get tickets. This show runs until February 28.

Last chance: Glow at the Exploratorium wraps up on Sunday! This one's special, LED dungeon crawlers, an artificial sun made of moving mirrors, nearly 500 suspended orbs forming a breaking ocean wave brought to life with light and sound, shadows that turn into star constellations, and sculptures that refract rainbows. A perfect mixture of art and science. If you haven't been yet, make it happen.

Let's get into it.

If your elementary schooler loves graphic novels, this is their morning.
