📆Issue No. 57 - February 28- March 1, 2026
Happy Friday, friends! As usual, SF has a ton going on to do with your kiddo this weekend. Whether your family is into art, music, cooking, or just want to be outside enjoying weather that isn’t rain, this weekend has many options.
Although Black History Month is coming to an end, there is still really great Black History programming throughout the city including The Bayview Black History Bike Ride, Black History and Futures Celebration, Black Excellence Art Reception and return of the Jazz Jam!, a Workshop Featuring West African Jollof Rice, and a Presentation of Contemporary Black Voices in American Opera.
Lunar New Year activities this weekend include several Lion Dance performances by West Coast Lion Dance Troupe, Lunar New Year Storytime and Roaring to Life: A Lion Dance Program at Cal Academy, a Lunar New Year Celebration in East Cut, an Ocean Ave Lunar New Year Celebration, a Galloping Fire Horse Dance Performance at Salesforce Park, a Lunar New Year concert at San Francisco Symphony, and the 48th Annual CCHP Chinatown YMCA Lunar New Year Run 2026.
Opening: The Eyes & The Impossible by Dave Eggers is opening at Z Space this weekend and Golden Gate Bandshell is coming back with its Special 6th Anniversary Kick-Off Show.
Last Chance: Once Upon A Mattress is closing this weekend. There are two shows on Saturday, then we must say goodbye to the princess and the pea.
Resources: 2026 Free Dental Health Fair for Kids, 2026 District 10 Summer Resource Fair and 5th Annual Giveback Event

Acadia Learning gives families unlimited tutoring for $40/month:
Your kid gets help from someone who remembers
No more guilt about what you forgot
Being a great parent doesn't require 7th grade math
Already helping 10,000+ families who care deeply but can't remember everything.
Book your first session by the end of the month and get 50% off your first month.
